Asked by satishsb2007@gmail.com

The RAID10 is configured on the IBMx3100 M5 properly. But when we are about to install the Ubuntu14.04 and 12.04 the hard drives are not getting detected to install the OS.That is why we are unable to install the Ubuntu14.04 and 12.04 on IBM x3100 M5.

The following will point you towards places where you may be able to get some support for this issue.

Also, per the certification noted on Ubuntu.com (http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201404-14956/)

IBM provides "hardware only warranty" support for Ubuntu. IBM systems debug, management and update tools may or may not work with Ubuntu. IBM and Canonical provide no warranty as to the function of these tools. IBM support personnel will accept problem reports for IBM Hardware ONLY if it is clear that the root cause of the problem appears to be a basic hardware warranty problem, such as a defective
power supply, fan or fixed disk. IBM customers that have a problem where the operating system or device driver interaction may be a contributing factor, (could include memory, processor, RAID/storage subsystems, networking devices, other option cards and system management technology), customers should open problem reports with both Canonical (through Ubuntu Advantage) and IBM to engage through TSAnet.

We may be able to help, but you'll need to request that help through Ubuntu Advantage.

Unfortunately, the configuration that was certified for the x3100 M5 was done so with a single SATA hard disk, it was never certified with a RAID adapter, so we have no way of knowing if this was ever working.

Can you help with this problem?
