Feedback on the Dell Latitude E7450 - Goliad MLK 14

Asked by HasHPIT on 2015-06-05

Nvidia drivers not working. I have tried ubuntu 15.04 in standard and gnome editions. I have tried both the available binary drivers (340 and 346) in the software update tool. I have tried drivers directly from nvidia. I have tried x-org edgers drivers. None seem to work. All seem to result in a black screen either before or after login.

Hello there,
a possible workaround is to add the "nomodeset" parameter into your grub: hold shift key down while booting, and you will see the grub, then press the "e" key on the one that you want to boot, finally, edit the line that has "quite splash" change it into "quite splash nomodeset", if this works for you, you can edit the grub file later after boot.

But I think it will be great if this issue could be reported as a bug, by doing so you will be helping this issue to get it fixed.
Thanks
