Touchpad on HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 Notebook PC does not work

Asked by Brian

The touch pad acts as if something is constantly pressing on it. This causes the mouse cursor to slowly wander on its own and occasionally click things on the desktop. Any other mouse input devices fail when this is happening. The most common (and only effective) solution is to disable the touch pad in the mouse settings and use the touch screen or external mouse.

This issue is Ubuntu specific and does not happen on Windows 8.1

Hi,
what version of Ubuntu you're using?
(run "uname -a" and "lsb_release -a" in your terminal would tell you these.)
