Feedback on the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E540 - GrantSharkbay

Asked by Georges Giralt

Hello !s
I own this model but with a slightly different configuration. Mine is a 20C600JHFR.
Most problems are solved with BIOS 2.18 which is the latest as of today.
I'm asking for Canonical and Lenovo to produce a keyboard definition file with all the key definitions for this keyboard.
I'm not sure if Lenovo still produce Ubuntu pre-loaded laptops. When I asked them before buying mine the answer was "not possible" but this was in France ...
Thanks for the good job anyway.

Hi,
what do you mean by a "keyboard definition file"? Is there any function key on your keyboard that is not working as expected?

Hello !
On my previous machine, to get the letter "œ" I had to press the <AltGr><o> combination. Now I do not know how to make it ! (I had to cut/paste from a previous document.
The only <AltGr> combination working properly is the € Euro symbol with <AltGr><e>.
Many thanks for your help.
Best regards.
P.S. : I'm French living in France. So this is why I need special chars.

Try the following steps:

    Press Ctrl+Shift+U. Release it.
    Type 153
    Press Space

You should get a "œ".

Tested an a Lenovo T430s with keyboard set as "French".
