Feedback on the Dell Inspiron 1545 - Roberts (ATI)

Unable to get past "Preparing to install" stage (having waited more than a number of minutes). Have tried LTS 12.04 and 14.04.2 (desktop amd64). USB boot into install is working. Seems to get errors from disk I/O.

Switched BIOS SATA to ATA from UHCI with no apparent effect.
