Feedback on the Dell Latitude E7450 - Goliad MLK 14

Asked by Josh Loberant

Running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with stock kernel
Several things happen:
The BIOS the machine ships with (A02) does not allow for virtual machines with Virtualbox. BIOS A03 fixes that
The wifi is very unstable. Where other laptops/phones connect, the E7450 is searching, and eventually fails to connect

How can i make the wireless not be horrible?

Hi,
what wireless chip you're using?
If it's a Broadcom one, have you install the proprietary driver for it?
Thanks

The component is the Intel 7625 wifi card. My suspicions were verified when
I found more complaints about Linux users having intermittent reception,
including dropping of networks and re-requesting the password multiple
times.
When contacting Dell support (I have 3 years NBA support), they stated that
they don't support Ubuntu. Odd, since they in fact ship pc's with Ubuntu...

Yeah, it looks like it a bug for the Intel 7265, some reports [1] could be found on launchpad as well.

Hence for this case, I would suggest you to open a new bug for it (with command "ubuntu-bug linux"), or subscribe to any other report that fits in your situation.

Good luck.
