Invalid Download Links for the Dell PowerEdge R710

Asked by Sharbel Zogheib

There are multiple problems on various pages of the Dell PowerEdge R710. For the Ubuntu Version 10.04.4 LTS, 12.04.1 LTS, and 14.04 LTS.

For v10 and v12 on this page: http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/200905-2781/
The download links go to the AMD 64-bit version; however, the testing was specified on an Intel-based processor. The links should be changed accordingly.

For the version 14.04 LTS in this link: http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201404-14939
The download link in that page is invalid. Other than specifying the AMD version of Ubuntu, the link provided does not exist. It goes to: http://old-releases.ubuntu.com/releases/trusty/ubuntu-14.04-server-amd64.iso; however, that link does not exist. It should be changed to: http://releases.ubuntu.com/releases/trusty/ubuntu-14.04-server-amd64.iso
Most conveniently, it should go to the Intel version rather than the AMD.

Hello,

the "amd64" here is the 64-bit architecture, quotes from wikipedia: "x86-64 (also known as x64, x86_64 and AMD64) is the 64-bit version of the x86 instruction set" [1]
It works fine with Intel processors.

And yes, the download link problem is a known issue , we hope it will be fixed soon.
Thanks for reporting this.

Cheers
