Feedback on the IBM HS22V

Asked by Jakub Pavlik

Hello,

we are company focusing on building of OpenStack private clouds. We have a problem with IBM HS22V servers with Ubuntu 14.04. Do you plan to certifate this server for this version? We would like to migrate all infrastructure from RedHat to Ubuntu.

The problem is that after installation when server boots at login screen, it freezes and you cannot do anything else. Any help would be great otherwise we need to stay at RedHat.

Thanks,

Jakub Pavlik

Hi,

At the current time, there is no plan to certify the HS22V. This is the decision of the manufacturer, not Canonical, we only certify systems at the request of the OEM.

If you do need the HS22V certified, the best option would be to contact your IBM/Lenovo account rep and insist on the certification of that particular Blade.

That said, while I can do nothing certification-wise at this time I will pass this request on internally and perhaps someone who deals specifically with OpenStack or Support will be able to contact you and perhaps work something out.

Can you help with this problem?
