Hello,
This Ethernet controller on this system is certified with 12.04
http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201011-6702/
I'll suggest you to give it a try.

If it's still not working, you could open a bug by using
"ubuntu-bug linux"
In your terminal.
