Hello Ivan,
For some system, you might need to install the proprietary driver to make the brightness control work.
If you still having problem with the proprietary driver installed, or there is no proprietary driver for your laptop.
I'll suggest you to open a bug by following the instructions in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/Debugging/Backlight

That's fine, no problems. I installed 12.04.00 and upgraded :)
I also found the workaround:
