Hello,
Did you enable the network boot option in you BIOS?
What is the last message you see when this happened (any screenshot available)?
Can you run lspci -nn in the terminal (ctrl + alt + t) and paste the result back here?

Since this laptop, HP ProBook 6550b, is only certified with 12.04
I think the best way to deal with it is to file a bug against it
