Feedback on the Dell Inspiron 15R

Asked by Mike C. Fletcher

Please note that the Certification page for a Dell Inspiron 15R has this introduction:

"The Dell Inspiron 15R laptop has been awarded the status of Certified for Ubuntu."

which tends to suggest to the reader that *any* Inspiron 15R (there are *lots* of configurations) is certified for any version of Ubuntu. Please modify the text to read something along the lines of:

"Dell Inspiron 15Rs with the options and components described below are Certified for use with the following Ubuntu releases."

or something similar. The point being to tell someone reading the page "you need to keep reading to see if the *particular* computer you are buying is actually compatible with the *particular* Ubuntu release you want to use". Many Inspiron 15R's are very painful hardware for use with Ubuntu, with flash disk accelerators that make installation corrupt Windows, switchable graphics that require beta fglrx drivers when updating to 13.04, Intel wireless-N that doesn't work at all, etc.

Thanks for your feedback!

Since this isn't really a question but rather, a feature request/suggestion, I'll turn it into a bug, it stands a better chance of being evaluated and implemented that way.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Mike C. Fletcher for more information if necessary.
