Feedback on the Dell Latitude E6230

The network card 82579LM does not work. The "eth0" device is shown but no link is detected and neither the LEDs on the back of the laptop turn on. I have even tried to download and install the e1000e driver from the Dell homepage. The module e1000e is loaded but the NIC still can't be used.

Apparently with kernel 3.8.0-25-generic this has been fixed. However the kernel was not installed during regular package updates. I had to run "apt-get dist-upgrade" to install ist.
