Dell E5430 : touchpad detected as generic mouse

Hello,
My touchpad is detected as generic PS/2 mouse on my Dell Lattitude E5430 with Ubuntu 12.04. Apparently, the problem comes from the kernel and it is a known bug :

Others laptops have the same problem. Is there another way to solve this problem than waiting for a kernel patch ?

Thanks for pointing it out. This wouldn't have blocked certification, but it should have been noted properly. It has a note now.

12.04.2 uses a new hardware enablement stack. Can you try if 12.04.2 solves your issue?
