In my Acer ZG5 my Ubuntu does not recognize the internal microphone. I have to use an external one.
Recognizes the video camera and speakers, but the microphone is not recognized. thanks.

In sound settings, does not recognize the microphone. But recognizing the microphone if I use linux software original that came with the machine.

Your ZG5 was only certified for Ubuntu 10.04.4: http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/200905-2911/

Since you said your internal mic is not recognized, but an external mic works fine, I'd suggest filing a bug as mentioned in the FAQ. Also you may want to try asking at askubuntu or on the Ubuntu Forums, in case someone with a ZG5 model of the Aspire One has had any luck or knows of any other workarounds.
