Jeff Lane suggests this article as an answer to your question.
FAQ #2193: “XXXX is broken, I need to file a bug”.

Thank you for your reply. What I was trying to determine is iff Ubuntu
gets the same battery life on the Lenovo as windows does.

Ahh, ok. I thought you were saying it didnt. And to be to the point, I don't know. We don't do side by side comparisons between windows and Linux, however, if there IS a significant difference in battery life (and I don't doubt you, especially when it comes to Lenovo systems) the best thing to do is file a bug with as much detail as possible, and join in on the discussion on places like:
ubuntuforums.org
askubuntu.com

So, Jeff, by whom is the system certified? Is it Lenovo or Canonical?
Kind regards

Canonical certifies specific models from various partners, however we do not do benchmarking or performance testing, and as I said, we typically do not do side-by-side comparisons with Windows.

Thanks Jeff Lane, that solved my question.
