Facing problem with Asus EeePC 1015PX with Ubuntu OS

Asked by Mani SVS

I am a new user of Ubuntu. Recently I installed my Asus EeePC 1015 PX netbook with Ubuntu 12 version. The problem I am facing is that when I boot my netbook every time, the screen starts scrolling with the start up files displayed in text format. Every time I have to force reboot by pressing the power button. The system asks for safe boot menu and when I opt for the safe boot menu, it starts fine but the mouse pad does not work. Please help me.

Hi, I hope this will point you in the right direction... you sound like you need some technical support, so this FAQ has links to places where you can get some help sorting your issues out. Also, since you're new to Ubuntu, the last two links will get you in touch with the Ubuntu community, which are a great group of people who love Ubuntu and most of whom are rather knowledgeable.

That being said, the 1015PX is also not certified for 12.04 because of video driver issues. You may be able to get some help working around the problem, and also you could download and try the current daily image of Quantal Quetzal here: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/
