Hi,
Thanks for providing your feedback about this particular model. For the release that you are using, this model is certified as "Ubuntu Certified (Pre-installed only)". This certification ensures that the model works correctly with the pre-installed version that came with this model. It is not guaranteed that the system works perfectly with the Ubuntu version that you download from www.ubuntu.com

Now, more specifically, the nVidia and ATI graphics available on these models is not supported with the pre-install image, only the Intel graphics are supported. (The system comes with a hybrid graphics card that combines an Intel graphics chip with one from nVidia or ATI).

Also, 10.10 is fairly old at this point and this system did not pass certification for 11.04. You could try the latest 11.10 image and let us know if that gets you going. 11.10 will be released in about a month from now, and may contain fixes that will resolve at least some of these problems (like sound) that you are having.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Jason Stephard for more information if necessary.
