Feedback on the Lenovo Thinkpad L412

as stated on this site, lenovo should have an ubuntu image configured for the l412. this should be available on contact of the manufacture (lenovo). So I contacted lenovo by phone and got the message that only windows is supported and they knew nothing about this ubuntu image.

We apologize as we do not support Ubuntu. We only support windows. The given link is also from Ubuntu. Probably they are confirming that Ubuntu will be compatible for Lenovo L412 however we do not suggest it. I would request you to contact Ubuntu to get more information about the same.

dose someone in the ubuntu licence project have a source/contact in lonovo. since they are denying any knowledge of ubuntu.

It does not say that the image is available from Lenovo.

Regardless of that, the L412 is Certified for Ubuntu 11.04, so you're welcome to try installing that (you can use the image available from and don't need to get a special one from Lenovo)
