Feedback on the Lenovo Thinkpad L412

hello
as stated on this site, lenovo should have an ubuntu image configured for the l412. this should be available on contact of the manufacture (lenovo). So I contacted lenovo by phone and got the message that only windows is supported and they knew nothing about this ubuntu image.

dose someone in the ubuntu licence project have a source/contact in lonovo. since they are denying any knowledge of ubuntu.

The site currently states:

"The system is available in some regions with a special image of Ubuntu pre-installed by the manufacturer. It takes advantage of the hardware features for this system and may include additional software. You should check when buying the system whether this is an option."

It does not say that the image is available from Lenovo.

This system is fully certified with stock Ubuntu 11.04, so you can use this system installing the image available at:
http://releases.ubuntu.com/11.04/ubuntu-11.04-desktop-i386.iso

Regardless of that, the L412 is Certified for Ubuntu 11.04, so you're welcome to try installing that (you can use the image available from www.ubuntu.com/download and don't need to get a special one from Lenovo)
