Eduardo - could you please let us know if you have experience any other problems with the dell vostro 3700 with Ubuntu. Specifically around Ethernet?

Hello Victor, I found the following issues with my Vostro 3700:
- Fingerprint reader do not work. DigitalPersona (0x138a) unknown device (0x8)
- Problems using Nvidia (I don't use it with Ubuntu), I haven't tried enough with "switcheroo" but for now working fine only with Intel i915 video.
- When turning off the Bluetooth (from the panel) it says is off, but still appears its led icon on.
- No extra issues so far but haven't test ethernet yet, I will and let you know if it works. It is recognized as:

13:00.0 Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168B PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet controller (rev 03)

It seems to work with Ethernet. I suspended my machine turned off the wifi hard switch, connected to the eth0 Ethernet, wake the laptop and it worked using Ethernet.

What seems to fail is the wifi hard switch and the wifi led, which is always off.

I'm using Natty (11.04)

Eduardo, some devices like the fingerprint reader are not part of the test suite because their support is not sufficiently widespread yet. For the complete list of components tested, please have a look at the test suite:

Thanks a lot Eduardo. With respect the hard switch for wifi, I had a similar problem with the vostro 3300 and I found the following worked around did the trick for me

Same issue with Vostro 3750. Nvidia driver does not work and give random issues logout issues while you are working.
