Feedback on the Dell Latitude E6410

 What version/release of the standard have you installed?

The pre-install image is distributed to the OEM (DELL in this case) and it is up to them how they make it available at the moment. What I can tell you is that our current plans is that 11.04 (Natty) should make everything work out of the box for the E6410. I would recommend you try either the latest Natty image or wait until Beta1 is released (as it should be more stable) before the end of this month.

I have installed version 10.04 64bit but I have also tried 10.10.
Most things work after messing a little bit with the settings and searching the ubuntu forums but still my internal mic does not always work and some other small things annoy me.

I will be waiting for 11.04 to become more stable because this is my production machine.

The point is that before I bought this machine I saw on your website that it is supported and asked dell to provide me a pre-installed laptop, but in Italy and Greece that I checked it was not available to ship. So I bought it with free-dos and I was planning to find the dell image and install it my self but I have not been able to locate a download link of the official Dell image.

I will get in contact with Dell and ask them if they can provide me an image. I guess there must be a recovery CD that they provide to the customers of the ubuntu pre-installed E6410. I see no reason not to be available for all owners of E6410.
