How do I install drivers on my system?

On Ubuntu, most of the drivers like touchpad, webcam, Ethernet card or even some Wireless cards and etc are already included in the kernel, they should be working as expected when you have the latest Ubuntu installed. The only driver you might need to install is for the AMD / NVIDIA video card and the Broadcom wireless controller.
If something OTHER THAN the aforementioned video / wireless card is not working, please:
1. Connect to the Internet.
2. Run a system update with the "Update Manager" from the dash.
3. Reboot, and check if it's working as expected.
If not, please open a bug for it [1].
To install the proprietary drivers for the aforementioned video / wireless card, please:
1. Connect to the Internet.
2. Run a system update with the "Update Manager" from the dash to update the software list.
3. Open "Additional Drivers" from the dash and install the proprietary driver with it.

Troubleshooting:
* I have an AMD / NVIDIA graphic card, but it's not recognized by the "Additional Driver" tool:
Sometimes when you're using a bleeding edge graphic card, it might be not supported yet in Ubuntu. Please open a bug for it [1].

* The installed proprietary does not work well for my AMD / NVIDIA card:

Driver packages for Dell:
