How to set up annual date reminders.

Hi,

I wanted to set up simple birthday calendar entries with annual repititions. Whenever I choose annual or even monthly on the repitition, I won't get back to save the date unless I choose anything less than monthly (like weekly, daily etc.).
What am I missing. It happens on all calendar types and all settings (whole day date, with or without description, with or without end of repitition, with or without guests).

What am I missing?
