Breaks Cinnamon on Mint 13

Asked by timur

I wanted to have updated Linux installation on USB. I used UCK before, but Ubuntu Builder gives more control, so I tried it. Overall, it's logical and nice.

I tried to make an updated linuxmint-13-cinnamon-dvd-32bit.iso, using Ubuntu Builder. It says "..you can customize, for example, Linux Mint (based on Ubuntu)..". I used apt-get dist-upgrade.
First problem was that I got login screen (which shouldn't be the case with LiveCD). But, using "mint" with no pasword I was able to log in.
Mint 13 ISO built like that boots fine, but Cinnamon is broken (it's like Gnome without status bar with Log off). I tried both with keeping configuration files and replacing with the new version.
What's the problem?

PS Please make s single page for the project. Now, there is https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-builder/ and Official project web site at http://code.google.com/p/ubuntu-builder and Official support forum (Italian) at http://ubuntubuilder.altervista.org and User Manual at http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5450581/help_1/help.html.

I tried LM 13 mate version and it worked fine. I don't remember which version of LM I tried with cinnamon (maybe the 14) but i did not encountered problems.

Let me try, I'll check for errors and let you know.

I made another test, this time to make an updated linuxmint-15-cinnamon-dvd-64bit.iso , using Ubuntu Builder on Linux Mint 15 64-bit.
This time, the result was better.

Still, I get login screen (which shouldn't be the case with LiveCD). But, using "mint" with no pasword I am able to log in.
But, Cinnamon is fine. This may have to do with Mint or Cinnamon version (I don't believe the reason is a platfom). Mint will backport new Cinnamon to Mint 13 LTS in June according to http://segfault.linuxmint.com/2013/05/cinnamon-1-8/.

I noticed here another bug, created ISO is named "LinuxMint-15-i386.iso" while it is in fact 64-bit.

Can you help with this problem?
