xserver crashes live cd

Hardware: HP Notebook nx9420 (Has Dual Core with ATI Mobility X1600)
Special: 2 GB Memory.

Trouble:
Installation does not work due to xserver crash when booting with live CD. The X-Server cannot be started.
And: Strange Errors with synaptics pad arise. but this should not matter, I think.

Checks:
- CD-check results in OK.
- Version: 7.04 FINAL!
- With feisty BETA everything worked OK (yes even sound and so on).

About user:
Well, I recently switched from windows to linux (currently SUSE 10.1), So I only know, what I see on the screen.
But I am a former Software Developer..... so there is some hope for me ;-)

My question:
Is this a known bug? Do you have any place in the web where to find? I googled already, scanned some forums, but didn't get any hint.
And the final is quite new now, so maybe this is still unknown?
