What's the grand vision?

Asked by Benjamin Rister

I've seen you tweet that TweetTweet has a different goal than Twitteriffic. And in the overview you say "features to fill in common annoyances with the use of Twitter." Details seem to be a little short, though, about the grand vision for the app, why it should exist, and what it's going to be providing that's not already available elsewhere.

Discuss. =)

I'm pretty poor at describing things, but here's some ideas.

Storing of tweets, facilitating searching through tweets without requiring twitter/other service access (Hey, so-and-so said something about....), storing also facilitates remembering tweets you've already downloaded/read even if you've quit the application and relaunched it.

Ability to focus/filter on tweets you only want to see, at least at first ability to filter down to just unread tweets. There's suggestions of filtering down to certain 'favorite' people too. Up for discussion.

Outgoing tweet queue, smoothing out the twitter downtimes or even your network unavailability with queueing of outgoing tweets. If a tweet failed to post to twitter.com, it could put it in the list with an indicator for currently trying again.

Also another big one is ability to view threads/replies. Someone is hopefully going to submit a UI mockup of possible UI to handle viewing of replies and/or reply threads. This is definitely something I always run into, "what the heck are they replying to..."

Can you help with this problem?
