Where Next? Installed LAMP

Asked by Farnham

OK, I downloaded and installed LAMP on a spare PC. It works, and I can see it from my work base here. What next? I would like to add WordPress to the mix. Does the WP appliance add-on to the current LAMP, replace it, or do I run it as Live CD or partitioned install? Can I add modules to my new LAMP server, or are all standalone instances?

I'm a newbie to TurnKey, but an oldtimer to web apps...

All TurnKey appliances are self contained, pre-configured, and include everything needed to get up and running. So, to answer one of your questions, the WordPress appliance is not an add-on, but a full appliance which is based on LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP, etc.).

If on the other hand, you would like to install WordPress or any other web application manually, then you would start off with the LAMP appliance.

I hope this answers your questions.
