Transcribe

install transcribe on other distro

I would like to install transcribe in chakra linux, an arch derivative for which transcribe has not been packaged yet. I have downloaded the tar.gz from launchpad, but I'm not quite sure what to do to get it running.

Normally, you should be able to install it using "python setup.py install". This is the standard way for python programs. Since most users are using Debian-based distros for which native packages are available, this way has been less tested. So if you experience any issues with this way, feel free to file a bug report.
