Question: I changed the font used in my text file in tpad and saved the file. When I opened the file again my font changes had been lost.

Answer: tpad is for editing plain text file. The font feature in tpad is to allow you to change the font used to display the text file you have opened in order to make the text easier to read or to allow you to use specialized fonts such as opendyslexic. These changes are not saved or recorded to the document. That's simply not how plain text documents work. You may be thinking of Rich Text Format (RTF). tpad is not designed for editing RTF documents but may be able to in the future. For now however, it is designed for only plain text documents.

Question: I want to change the default font tpad uses. It is annoying to have to change it every time! How in the world do I do this?

Answer: That would be because tpad lacks that feature at the moment. However, we plan on adding this feature so consider it on the to-do list!

Question: I just downloaded a font and want to use it in tpad, how do I do this?

Answer: First install the font on your system. For ubuntu, see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Fonts
Please note that you may need to exit and reopen tpad after installing a new font on your system before it shows up in tpad.
