search using synaptic, win32, you'll get avi codecs, add divx, xvid, quicktime. next browser,
if you use firefox, consider getting the extension
media player connectivity, check in address bar:
about:plugins. Then if Totem fails, try Kaffeine.
Note search mozilla plugins as well, Totem, has plugin for Browser.

Thanks for your help. I also have a problem with my motherboard (ASUS P4U800-X) soundcard which has no drivers for Ubuntu Linux. My son and I have both searched for these but to no avail. Any suggestions?
