DVD Playback.

Asked by DChampnoise

I am trying to watch DVD's on my computer. I have Ubuntu 7.04. I have tried multiple players and have had the same results. Looking through the questions, I even did this (sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread3/install-css.sh). That allowed me to view only about 30 or 40 sec of video. Then it would produce an error saying that I might now have enough rights to view this.

Follow the info at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RestrictedFormats. Specifically, you will probably need to add the medibuntu repository and install libdvdcss2 in order to play most commercial DVDs.

Thanks for the help. I can now watch the movies that I couldn't before.
