Get "IncompatibleAPI" error when try to open Bazaar Explorer in windows

Asked by Rahul Sisondia

I installed bzr-2.5.1-1-setup.exe on windows 7 64 bit with Tortoize Shell extension ON. Shell extensions -> TortoizeBazaar, Bazaar commit and Bazaar checkout works fine but when I click on shell extension "Bazaar Explorer" I get following error -

---------------------------
Explorer - Tortoise Bazaar
---------------------------
IncompatibleAPI: The API for "<module 'bzrlib' from 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Bazaar\lib\library.zip\bzrlib\__init__.pyo'>" is not compatible with "(1, 17, 0)". It supports versions "(2, 4, 0)" to "(2, 5, 1)".
---------------------------
&OK
---------------------------

Python 2.6.4 is also installed on my machine. I am unable to understand what else could go wrong. Appreciate any thoughts ?

It looks like you have an old version of bzr (version 1.17.0) also installed somewhere on your machine, and that's what bzr-explorer seems to be using.

Well, I never installed older versions of bzr. I installed bzr-2.5.1-1 first time on a fresh installed OS.

Any help ? What could be wrong ? I searched the registries in case if some key is pointing out at version 1.17.0 but there is nothing as such. What else can I try ?

There was one bzr gtk .99 version installed on my machine. When I installed that BZR explorer started working.
