Firefox 3.5 will not download a torrent-Vista

Asked by jagman

Everything with Vista and Firefox 3.5 was great until I had to reload Vista Home Premium.
When I re-loaded Firefox 3.5.5 and went to a torrent site like www.isohunt.com, firefox refuses to download any torrent but instead pops up a window that says:

Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:12322.

and the window is not expandable to see the rest of the message.

Firefox forum has no help, anyone help me? the MLdonkey for windows didn't seem to help but I may have not installed it correctly

If you are using a stock mldonkey installation, then you need to configure Torrent Server Handler to use the default port 4080 and uncheck SSL.

You might want to take a look at the TurnKey Torrent Server appliance, preconfigured with mldonkey, and a load of other goodies: http://www.turnkeylinux.org/torrentserver

Note, that you will need to change "localhost" to point to your Torrent Servers address (IP or hostname).

Hope this helps.
