How far away is 0.4?

Asked by Thomas Novin

Hello!

Just wondering about the timeline, when will 0.4 be released and when do you think there will be two-way sync with Ubuntu One/Tomboy Online?

This message suggests it is quite close, and would allow 1 way U1 sync only

and for two-way sync you need editing first and then the two-way sync so this is further down the road..

Tomdroid being a hobby (unpaid for) project driven by busy people, I can't really tell when this will be implemented..

I have been following this project for a bit over a year hoping it would turn into something good. From what I can tell there are a lot of developers spending a lot of time to try to make this app better. BG had a version that synced to U1 a year ago! However, it seems that the driver, Olivier, has been delinquent in supporting/merging in all these great efforts. They just sit there in their branches unloved by trunk.

If Olivier does not have time to manager the project and actively spend time merging change sets and working out conflicts, perhaps it is time to promote one of the more advanced branches to a new project. I've developed a few Android apps (see my launchpad) and would be willing to contribute to this project if I felt it was going somewhere and contributions would be looked over in a timely manner.

Actually, I see from that launchpad message that Olivier is willing to promote one of the web-sync branches to 0.4. Perhaps I was being too harsh. :)

Can you help with this problem?
