wishes for notebooks (printing and confinement)

Asked by grigori

well i wondered about that.
while i work at something, i really love to collect quotes and own thoughts on specific topics and collect them all in one notebook. it's a wonderful, almost perfect tool for my kind of work (philosophy). but there are two small problems:

the first one is, that, before composing an essay or something similar, i like to print all of the notes i took and work through them with an oldschool red pen ;) so if i took notes on about 20 different terms, printing all of them is kind of an annoying work because i can't just print the whole notebook.

the second problem is that notes are automatically interlinked, even if they are not in the same notebook. this can be good for some things, but not always. for example: if i'm about to collect information about heidegger and wittgenstein for two seperate essays, terms like ›Welt‹ are interlinked, even if they are handled totally different by both writers. the solution would be to lock-down, or confine distinct notebooks, so their interlinking is confined to what is inside them.

Would be great if those to options could be added somehow.

Please file bugs in GNOME bugzilla for these features if they don't already exist.
