How to run the program on a self service desk?

Asked by Frode Hatlevik

I am looking for a way of making a self-service burning station, much like the Freedom Toaster. Freedom toaster seems to have been abandoned, but poerhaps I am wrong.

Anyway, this will involve running X with only Toast Machine open. Do you have any instructions for how to do this?

Yes! ;)

The toast-machine install script installs also an xsession file (/usr/share/xsessions/toast-machine.desktop) for the display manager so you can launch toast-machine directly loggin-in with "Toast Machine" session instead of Gnome/KDE/other... if needed you can set up GDM to autologin an user with the toast-machine session.

TM will also try to launch a window manager (by now only metacity)

When you want to quit TM you're asked for the password of the user who ran it, to avoid someone can quit the app.

Can you help with this problem?
