Possibility of switching to GIT?

Asked by Josh on 2015-03-24

This is not a big deal, just wondering if there was any thought into switching to GIT repo instead of BZR.

I find updating bzr terribly slow compared to my git repos.

https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-devel/2014-01/msg00005.html

is a good read, as well as the link inside that to

http://www.stationary-traveller.eu/pages/bzr-a-retrospective.html

This also might encourage other developers to contribute in the GIT world.

Yes Git is a good idea. If you prefer this, just have a look at:

Best regards.

Sweet thanks.

Are you going to move bugs and questions over there too?

Thanks Holger Seelig, that solved my question.

Launchpad is important as it has a automatic build system for debian packages that can easyly installed on Ubuntu. So the bug tracking system and this page here is good for Ubuntu users. Probably I wil manage both.

Try something like this for bzr repros

bzr checkout --lightweight lp:titania/0.8

this will download only a snapshot not the whole history.
