Running TS as a cronjob

Asked by Alan Taylor

My Linux Mint 18.3 Cinnamon 64 bit machine runs 24/7/365. Timeshift v17.11.

If I instruct Timeshift to create snapshots in the schedule it will do this but only during working hours. In order to run TS at a time convenient to me I have not selected any scheduled tasks but created a cronjob to run at a time that is convenient to me and does not affect my work flow. This seems to work well but I do not know if the resulting output is a snapshot or a full backup that does not build on the previous one. In other words, are they incremental in the same way as snapshots appear to be. Can anyone shed light on this please?
