How do we get the timekpr-client icon into the Unity dock?

Asked by webservant

Since upgrading to 11.04, we've been getting used to the new Unity interface. I've found that timekpr works as it did before, but the timekpr-client (time remaining) icon is no longer visable/available in this new interface.

I was able to drag the icon for timekpr-gui into the launcher. This created /usr/share/applications/timekpr.desktop which continues to work.

From this experience, I attempted an entry for timekpr-client by cloning the file to timekpr-client.desktop and modifying the target application. However, this does not seem to work. Besides, I would prefer an icon in the dock rather than the launcher.

Any ideas on how to crack this nut?

I was about to tell you to try gnome nanny (https://launchpad.net/nanny), but try this:
http://techspalace.blogspot.com/2011/06/enable-tray-icon-for-all-program-in.html

enable the tray icon for all your programs, log out and log back in, maybe it will work :)

Can you help with this problem?
