Configuration files : where are they?

Asked by JC

Hello.
I'm trying to install timekpr in an unsupported ( I think) linux distro (Caixa Mágica) but I'm running into some problems:
I installed timekpr but the gui doesn't work, so I thought, not a problem, I can create the configuration files by hand...
So I've created the following files (the username is "aluno" )

/var/lib/timekpr/aluno

/var/lib/timekpr/aluno content is:
1200
because the user should be limited to 20 minutes per day.

Out of desperation I create another file /var/lib/timekpr/aluno.time with the following content:
limit=( 20 20 20 20 20 20 20 )
from=( 7 7 7 7 7 7 7 )
to=( 22 22 22 22 23 22 22 )

Timekpr is running but the user is not logged out.

Since I can't use the gui confiuration utility could someone please tell what files I should create and should I put them.

Thanks for your help and attention.

It's currently being re-written to support non-ubuntu and to be easily installed using. So I would suggest to wait until the new version comes out. :)

I can't help you all the way, but if we could fix the timekpr-gui maybe it could help?
Run this in terminal: gksu timekpr-gui

Reply back with the output. Cheers!

Hello.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
The timekpr-gui wasn't running because it was missing the gtk.glade module (that was the error message).
So I decided to update the operating system, install libglade and reinstall timekpr.

It works!!!

Thanks for your help.
By the way the "Caixa Mágica" linux distro is based on the Mandriva distro.

Thank you for the input, I'm glad it works! I just hope to finish rewriting timekpr soon, I plan to make the setup/installation a breeze and multiplatform. [ But so many checks, so many errors, so many frustrations... :) ]
