Using Thurderbird alongside GMail

Asked by Paul Gee

I want to know if I can access my POP3 e-mails thru my g-mail service..ie from any desktop location and not tied to one dedicated location. GMail works perfectly for me but I do have a POP3 requirement.
Kind regards
Paul

I'm not sure if I understood our question right, but looks like you'd like to access Gmail via POP3 from any location?

Just follow the steps outlined on this page:
http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=38343&topic=12810

The instructions are for Thunderbird 1.5, but I guess it shouldn't differ too much for Thunderbird 2.0. In order to be able to access messages from any computer, check the "Leave messages on server option" in Server Settings (Step 11 on that page). And that should do it.

Best,
Ram
