Thunderbird does not show notifications in indicator-applet.

How to get notifications work in Ubuntu 10.04? I tried to find any addons to get thunderbird to work with indicator-applet, but I don't found anything.

This issue is the subject of several bug reports, for example:

At the moment, unless you want to try building an experimental plugin, it looks like a matter of waiting until Thunderbird 3.1 for indicator applet integration.
