Send key binding during startup

I'm wondering if it would be possible to send a key binding automagicly on startup, somewhere in the near future?
This might be a useful way to split the terminal on startup.

There isn't such a method, but we are working on the ability to save/restore layouts, which would be better than sending keybindings on startup, I think.
