Close button is too dangerous

Asked by Floréal on 2009-06-16

I'm using terminator on my laptop with a touchpad emulating 3 buttons (left+right click).
The popup menu containing a close button is too dangerous, i've accidentally close many windows mainly when i'm trying to use my 3° button (for pasting or something like that). When my right click is done on the bottom of the screen, the menu pop up too high and the close button is displayed under my mouse. Then a simple left click and you've lost your ssh connection and so on.

This arrive quite often, so please do something. I've got some simple proposition for that :

(by window, i the next lines, i mean a splited term, not the main window)
- Remove only the button in the popup, in this case splitted window must draw a cross for closing it. (i think the better)
- Add an option to confirm closing the window (the simpler).
- Ensure the close button is never under the mouse when menu pop-up (not really pretty)
- ...

Btw ... thx for all, this software is really great.

(especially the useless feature to type on multiple term, i'm running benchmarks on 10 host and this feature has changed my life :p)

I agree that the placement of the Close menu item is unhelpful and we did actually already have a bug report about this, which has been fixed and will be included in 0.13 which I hope to release soon :)

Thanks for your interest in Terminator!
