Ability for automatic session logging

Asked by Lambert Rots

Is is possible to add a feature that all new sessions are automatically logged? I used this for example within PuTTY using a template so that each session gets logged as hostname_timestamp.log in a specific directory. If I enable the logger plugin I additionally have to start logging for each session.

People have already added this kind of functionality through plugins. i.e.
https://www.snip2code.com/Snippet/58595/Terminator-plugin----log-the-output-of-t
https://github.com/camillo/TerminatorPlugins
And there is also the included Logger plugin. It sounds like >90% of what you want is already there.

Really this should be a wishlist item (i.e. a bug that is flagged wishlist).

I know that there are some plugins and have enabled the included logger plugin. Is indeed covers >90% of what I want. The feature request is not about a logger plugin but the ability to configure terminator so sessions are logged automatically when started. Currently I need to enable logging manually for each session.

The version I use is 0.98 on Linux Mint 18.3.
