Is there anyway to make transparent background blur?

One feature of iTerm2 I like is that it supports **blur** transparent background. So, the terminal background is transparent, however, everything behind the window are blurred, which feels super nice. I didn't find any setting can achive the same effect, is there anything I'm missing? or how can I contribute to implement it?
