preferences?

Asked by icaf8k

I understand that I can set preferences for Terminator in Gnome Terminal. I also understand that Terminator can read a text file consisting of configurations.

I couldn't find a way of setting preferences directly in Terminator. Did I miss some menu or other GUI-based configuration options?

Or is Terminator always going to be dependent on Gnome Terminal for setting preferences visually?

There is a configuration GUI in the latest release, but it can't yet save the configuration itself.
For now I think the best way to configure terminator is via the config file (see "man terminator_config"). In the future we hope to have the ability to reconfigure it and save a configuration file, and save profiles and layouts, all within Terminator itself, and will remove the GNOME Terminal settings part.

I would like to now if the possibily to save configuration from the GUI is planned to be implemented soon. That feature would really be nice ;)
