Ubuntu 16.04.1 - unable to select icons in Launcher search

I am running Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, with terminator 0.98-1

If I place the terminator window next to the launcher, such that clicking the top button (search) expands the menu over the terminator window, I am unable to select any icons in the search menu. Moving the terminator window someplace else makes the issue go away.

It almost seems like mouse z-order (click and double-click, but not click-drag) is being given/stolen to terminator.

Worth a bug, or is this some setting I've screwed up somewhere?
