Can I configure the ratio size of new splitted windows?

Asked by Serge van Ginderachter

Coming from the default 13.04 0.96-2fakesync1 I'm testing the latest 0.97~ppa2.

When splitting windows, be it horizontally or vertically, both the current and new window got to be half the size of the original window. In this latest version, this seems to be around 6.5/3.5 for current/new window.

I'd like to keep the 50/50 ratio. Is this configurable? I (quickly) looked around in config and source code, but can't seem to find something related to that.

Serge, there isn't a configuration for this. It is supposed to be set to 50:50, but there are some wrinkles. I know of two issues right now. 1) A minor issue when doing a split in a window with no tabs. I think this is down to not accounting for the width of the splitter, so it's just out by a couple of pixels. 2) In a window with multiple tabs and splits I see the same kind of 65:35 ratio. Can you confirm if this is the issue you see as detailed in https://bugs.launchpad.net/terminator/+bug/1186953 (you don't mention tabs)

If so please mark this as solved/answered, and instead keep an eye there.

Yes, the problem is when having at least 2 tabs open.
